Clinical Nurse Manager | Residential Aged Care
Location: Katherine, NT (Indigenous Health)
Contract Duration: ASAP /December start – up to 10 months (maternity leave cover, ending 1/10/2026)
Reporting To: Service Manager
Hours: 38 hours/week, typically Monday–Friday
On-Call: Yes, for emergencies as after-hours contact
Weekend / Public Holidays: Only if required for emergency support
Role Overview
The CNM will oversee Registered Nurses and Personal Care Workers, providing leadership, clinical oversight, and staff support. This is primarily a leadership and administrative role; clinical floor work is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support RNs and PCWs
- Performance management with support from the Service Manager
- Support staff rostering and recruitment as needed
- Oversee clinical governance reporting (NQUIP, SIRS, Workcover, updates to Aged Care Standards)
- Ensure compliance with the new Aged Care Standards (effective 1 Nov 2025)
- Orientation and handover from the departing CNM will be provided
Operational Context:
- The site is currently stable
- Staffing: One RN vacancy being recruited; all other roles are permanent
- Familiarity with new Aged Care Standards is essential
Accommodation & Logistics:
- Accommodation availability depends on candidate needs; preference for single-share unit if possible
- No fleet vehicle provided
- Candidate to commence ASAP in December to allow for handover
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced CNM with strong leadership skills
- Familiarity with clinical governance and reporting requirements in aged care
- Ability to manage and mentor clinical staff
- Flexible, reliable, and confident as the after-hours emergency contact
